The reality of “unlimited storage” hosting.
Technical point:
There is no hard drive built with INFINITY storage! Upload 10 TB of file on the server see magic 😀
So no one can provide truly unlimited storage. They can provide a lot of storage which you will hardly use but it can’t be unlimited, never.
You see infinity sign in your cPanel (mostly used WHM), that is just a sign telling you that you don’t have any limit of storage, but what if hard drive gets full? Technical you don’t have anything called unlimited storage. They can provide a huge amount of storage, but not unlimited.

What mostly hosting companies do
They allow you a huge amount of storage? You think YAYYYYY that much amount of storage at a very low price, WOW. But! have you ever asked them the limit on files? The limit on inodes? AAHH, no!
Let us take an example of a popular company, Namecheap. I don’t get why people like it, probably they have not used any good hosting yet. However, here we will see the tactics they use to limit users, good or bad hosting is another case
They provide you 20 GB storage at around about $10 for the FIRST YEAR ONLY., which then becomes around $39 for the same plan. Let us ignore $39, assume you have to use only for one year. So you get 20 GB storage at $10?
Have you ever asked them about the limit of files?????
See screenshot below, they have a limit of 300,000 files. 300,000 only! Install WordPress and you will get around about 35000 files used. Look how they are limiting to use your total 20 GB storage 😀

Further, they also have a limit on inodes which the never tell on plans page unless until you ask them. Once your account exceeds the inodes limit, it will be suspended for 24 hours.
Technically, each inode is usually equal to one file or any object stored in your account. They are indexes, representing the location of file or object. So in simple words, each file is also is an inode.
Many hosting providers have it enabled but never show, here in our example, Namecheap has 300,000 files limits which is also inodes limit. You may have seen many users saying that their account is suspended and the notice says “limit exceeded”. That is because either your bandwidth is exceeded or inodes. In our example, 300,000 limit on inodes is exceeded even if you don’t have that many files stored. But how?
When any visitor visits your site, he is served the content, am I right? You may be thinking visitor will be served those stored files, so if even if we have the limit, we won’t exceed it. No, you are wrong. Most of us have WordPress installed and use a lot of plugins, they create many files once the visitor enters your site to perform their functions. And if they create 300,000 files in 24 hours (or less because you already have some files) your account will be suspended for 24 hours.
In this way, they limit your storage usage as well as bandwidth usage. So that so-called unlimited bandwidth of Namecheap is also not reality.

I would say don’t rush for unlimited storage of huge amount of storage if you are taking a start, 1 GB is enough. WordPress will use hardly 70 MBs space and rest is all for you. For a starter, 1 GB is enough. I have 3 sites hosted and used only 400 MB.
Just find those who are true to their clients. Ask them if they have any limit on files or inodes.

Most people out there just don’t let you go to local hosting providers but believe me, most of those local providers are way better than those international ones, such as Namecheap.
And the last point, every expensive thing is not always the best, for example, iPhone 😛
Some people don’t seek a huge amount of profits, they just want clients so they offer low-cost hosting, which doesn’t give them any profit in money. They get only clients to have some presence otherwise this mentality that local providers are not will never let them take start up and establish a business.

Good luck with choosing a true and honest provider (Y)
