So the topic I have taken for today’s blog might sound an easy topic to talk about but actually, it is not. Today I’ll talk about freelancing vs. full-time job. Earlier people used to think that nine to five job is the best career option to choose, but nowadays people have changed a lot in terms of their career options. Nowadays people want to be more liberal & independent at their workplaces. They do not want to follow their boss’s order they want to have their own staff whom they can give orders, but do you really think that all of this are as simple? Actually making a choice between freelancing & a full-time job is totally depends on person to person. It is not necessary that if a person wants to set his/her career as a freelancer he/she has the potential to do so & vice versa if someone is doing a full-time job or wants to opt full-time job as a career, again it is not necessary that he/she does not have the talent to become a freelancer. So in this blog, I am just going to make the comparison between two of these career options & then you decide which is going to be your career preference.

If I talk about freelancing what are the things come first into our mind comfort zone, liberty, flexible work pattern etc: so let’s know some of the pros & cons of the freelancing first.

PROS & CONS OF FREELANCING:

• FEASIBILITY:

As a freelancer, you get more feasibility in your working hours & working environment. You can adjust your working hours as per your convenience. You can make your own choices in choosing your projects & assignments what your heart allows you to do. You can also easily maintain your social & family life along with your work.

 2) DECISION MAKING:      

When you start freelancing the person you will find who takes strong & big decisions for your business is only you. You will be your own boss. It is kind of a good thing & a bad thing at the same time being your own boss will make the things very difficult to take any strong decision because, you know whether that decision is right or wrong no one is going to guide you for that. Not having a boss or a senior authority also means that you do not have anyone who can push you further & measure your progress but the best part is you are not accountable to anyone.

3) YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS TO ENDORSE YOURSELF:

At the initial stage of your freelancing, you need to market or promote yourself wherever you go, in parties, functions between your family members & friends to everyone you need to talk about what you are offering. Some people may like it some may not but you have to do this & if you are a silent kind of a person then it is going to be a little tough job for you.

4) DOWNFALL:

In any sort of business, there must be a time when your business has to face a downfall phase. This phase is very difficult for everyone to go through, but in a way, this phase of your business will make you stronger & will push you to think out of the box to make a great comeback in the business with new & improved ideas.

5) EARNINGS & TAXES:

As a freelancer you know that whatever hard work you will put into your business it will come back to you as your earnings which also works as a kind of a motivation for you because the more hard work you do the more money you will earn & even you can take care of all the taxes which you need to pay by yourself. No doubt in business you always have a huge risk for the money which you have invested in but then business is all about taking risk am I right?

PROS & CONS OF FULL-TIME JOB:

• FEASIBILITY:

Like freelancing, full-time job employ does not get the feasibility in their working hours & working environment. They have to follow the stander nine to five working hours & even sometimes they have to do overtime, due to this they neither can pay attention to their families nor they can enjoy their social life but on the other hand they have their paid leaves which is not possible in freelancing if you take leave in freelancing somehow it will definitely affect your business. In salary jobs, you are not supposed to make your own choices for your projects & assignment you have to work on whatever you are asked for.

• FREE FROM DOWNFALLS:

As a full time employ you are free from all the ups & downs & hard time of the business. You just need to complete your projects & assignments & your salary will be sent to you at the end of the month & even if you are a government employ you will also be benefited with the pension facility. No investments risks.

• HEALTH INSURENCE POLICIES:

If you are a full-time job employ you don’t need to worry about your health insurance all of these will be taken care by under your company’s policies but in freelancing you have to manage all of these on your own which is quite difficult initially.

• EARNINGS & TAXES:

In terms of paying taxes full-time job & freelancing both have their own benefits in a way, it’s up to you which one you rather prefer. If you are a full-time employ you will get your salary after deducting all the taxes so there is nothing much left for you to take care of. In terms of earning there is a drawback with full-time job employ that you have a fixed salary & it will only increase after a certain period of a time & that too in a quite limited way whether you work more than your fixed hours. In some companies, they have some incentive programs but not every company have such programs.

A Successful YouTube Career. Luck or Hard Work ?

So running a successful YouTube channel is a hard work or just a luck?  According to me, it’s 50% hard work and 50% smart work. No doubt like any other job profile YouTubing is also a hard working field but most of the time it takes smart work more than a hard work especially at the initial stage of your channel. When you reach to 10k to 20k subscribes your subscribers starts frequently growing. At this stage you have to start doing hard work because this is the phase when you don’t need to worry about subscribers, you will not struggle with views & subscribers and your subscribers starting building trust on you & you have to maintain their trust on you & for that what you need to worry about is a good & more reliable contents and for that you really need to work hard because there is a huge competition on YouTube nowadays and on the other hand when you are new and just started your channel you need to do smart work, you have to apply smart tricks along with the good contents to gain views and subscribers because at this stage people don’t recognize you and your channel, you have to attract them. I personally know many small YouTubers who have spent 1-2 years and uploaded 200-300 videos but still have 1k-1.5k subscribers. These YouTubers are very talented and deserve much more but still struggling and there are many popular YouTubers who have more than lac subscribers but in terms of the good content, they are not up to the mark. There is a phrase in Hindi ‘ Jo Dikhta Hai Wahi Bikta Hai’ and this literally goes with this situation. Many popular YouTubers in terms of weak content the way they are presenting their videos with all the video shooting equipment and with full confidence their video looks more attractive and viewers subscribe their channel because they think they are more professional and reliable. Have you ever seen a girl who actually has pimple on her face or pimple marks on her face showing you a remedy for it & showing you the real effects on her face, maybe there are some but majority of the channels are like that a girl is showing you the remedy for oily and acne prone skin and for pimple marks & she herself has a crystal clear and dry or normal skin & still people are asking her for remedies for a pimple & oily skin just because she has a beautiful skin & she herself is very beautiful, she looks more professional & she already has more than lac subscribers all of these attract more people whether they are providing an effective remedy or not. Same thing goes with technical channel there are people who want to learn latest techniques or latest technical information but if a channel teaches you something in depth in a 10-15 minutes video people either watch the video by skipping it or close the video after 2-3 minutes, on the other hand, a person in a 5 minute video is talking mostly about the rubbish things but with full confidence & with some tricks, people love such videos give likes & instantly subscribe that channel

When you decide to start a YouTube channel the first question comes to your mind that which is the best category that you should start with which can generate more revenue for you. In this article, I will discuss all of this. Every category has it’s own pros and cons and you have to be prepared for all the circumstances but always remember one thing higher the popularity of a category tougher the competition and tougher the competition higher the price for it and due to this your CPC rates can also differ but not much definitely in tech category it will be little higher but not much. Technical category gets ads and sponsorship from companies like latest mobile phones, cameras and other gadgets, software, websites and paid reviews. Now our next category which generates more revenue is Makeup Tutorial category now here I would like to mention one thing that beauty and skin care category is totally different most of the people get confused between two of these and make mistakes while taking the decision. Makeup tutorial channels can get lots and lots of sponsorship if they have a reputed channel. They get monthly subscription’s sponsorship, reviews of big brand’s makeup products, sponsorship from online stores of exclusive skin care/personal care and cosmetics and they pay a decent amount for reviewing their products. This category has a huge competition but this category also restricted from viewer’s perspective the majority of the followers is female. Next, is in most revenue generating category is Web Series or Comedy Web Series. This category has recently got popularized in a vast level. In this category, channels get sponsorships from online shopping stores, different Apps and services and fashion apparel brands. Now this category has a vast viewers range. Their videos are very entertaining and people love to watch such videos no matter which field they belong to. According to me these are the three categories which can generate more revenue for you because in these categories you get opportunities to earn extra money apart from the ads displaying on your videos but on the other hand categories like cooking, skin and health care, prank videos, roast videos and singing channel videos, don’t get such opportunities. Their main source of generating revenue would be ads displaying on their videos. Their viewers might not be age or gender restricted they can have both male and female followers but they do not have many options in terms of sponsorships.

I would suggest don’t think about which category can generate more revenue for you while starting a channel, start your channel with the best you have because if you do what you best at you will definitely find your way out to earn more money so don’t worry about that just start and give it your best.

What is YouTube Advertiser friendly Video Content Guidelines

According to YouTube ‘advertiser-friendly content is content that is appropriate for all audience’ but this is the main problem. Now a day’s most of the contents are not appropriate for all audience and the proof is the trending section of YouTube, open it and you will come to know that how appropriate all the videos are for all the audience and India is not the only country who is facing this problem this is a worldwide problem so YouTube has provided an additional guideline to solve this problem.

Content that is considered “not advertiser-friendly” includes, but is not limited to:

• Adult suggestive content including partial nudity and adult humor.

Now according to this point you cannot upload such videos which are inappropriate from being viewed by viewers under the age of eighteen if YouTube found such videos on your channel they will demonetized your channel and no ads will be shown on your videos you may get thousands of views but you will not get any ads on such contents.

• Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent.

What is GST ? Advantages & Disadvantages ! The Story in Layman Terms

Finally, the government is launching GST on July-1st. It is going to change the entire scenario in terms of indirect taxes. This was a very long pending issue which is finally come to an action. GST is a single tax which will be implemented instead of many different types of indirect taxes. If you have a business you need to pay a certain type of taxes other than income tax like VAT, service tax, excise duty and customs duty all of these taxes are called indirect taxes and all of these including central and state government taxes will be replaced by GST. As the name suggested GST (Goods & Services Tax) this indirect tax will be applicable on all the goods and services.
Who should pay GST?
People with the turnover less than 20 lakh do not have to necessarily register for GST and for Northeast states this limit is 10 lakh. If you have already registered under VAT or any other taxes you have to roll over your registration to GST. If you are selling any goods through any website or providing any services then also GST is mandatory for you.
Advantages of GST:
It will replace 17-20 indirect taxes and simplify the taxpaying process

Small business in the manufacturing section will bear most of the brunt of GST implementation. Under the existing excise law business with 1.50 crores turnover have to pay excise duty but under GST this limit has been reduced to 20 lakh which will increase the tax burden for manufacturing SMEs.

According to some economist that GST in India would impact negatively on the real estate market. It would add up to 8% to the cost of new homes and reduce demand by 12%

The implementation date of GST is July-1st 2017 which is middle of the year and it is impossible to cross over from one tax structure to the other in just a day hence business will end up running both tax system in parallel which will create so many confusions.

Some retail products like garments and clothes currently have only 4% tax but after GST it will become more expensive.

GST requires a business to register in all states they are opening in. this will increase the burden of compliance.

The aviation industry would be affected services taxes on airfares currently range from six to nine percent but with GST it will increase up to fifteen percent.
